officially begin.
What is this all
about?
Perhaps you are someone who, like me, had done all the
seeking, personal growth explorations, therapy, yoga, meditation, and recovery
you could take, and were still
suffering. Perhaps you are getting to the point of just being plain DONE with
the search. Perhaps you are finally to the point of full renunciation, at the
point of surrendering everything and finally saying, “Please, help!”
The missing piece for many is the attachment – the final
attachment to ego, to existing as a separate identity. This is the part that
still self-identifies and needs to drop or be dropped. In order to fully make
the launch to the next cycle, the disidentification with the egoic self must
occur. You are not the doer; grace is flowing through you, both making
successes and victories, and making "errors." It is all perfect, even when it's not. There’s never a reason to worry, never a reason to hurry,
said my teacher Ramesh. “Everything is a happening according to God’s
will/Cosmic Law.”
For those of you who don’t know, that is called advaita
vedanta (non-duality). In my experience, it is the yogic understanding
(perfectly realizable in this lifetime!) that one is drawn to after the other practices
and approaches of yoga (mindfulness and awareness) have been traversed (in a
non-linear fashion). It is the limb of awakening,
when all principles, practices, concepts are seen as false – and all is
realized to be as it is, beyond our singular control. It is Samadhi, yogic
union, Oneness. Existence is as it is, an infinite number of causes and effects
happening simultaneously.
If you’re asking nothing more and nothing less than the End
of Suffering, you will be at the end of seeking. Ultimately, this is the end of
the superego and the end of the inner critic. It is the end of the identification
with the ego, the illusory central locus of operation. There is no more
separation causing unnecessary shame or guilt, or egoic pride. It is the end of the
identification with the “me.”
I am happy to share this with you. It's been about four years a-knocking!
With love,
Erin
