Full Moon Astro-Tarot Forecast - December 17, 2013

This Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 1:28 a.m. Pacific, we have a testy Full Moon in the sign of the quick-witted Gemini Twins, the Masters of Duality!

It Takes Two to Tango

If you’ve been a reader of this blog for some time, you may have noticed I often write about the yogic Eastern teaching of advaita, or non-duality. Advaita literally means “not two,” and is often described as “neti, neti,” which means “not this, not this” in Sanskrit. Advaita is the Is-ness of the One Consciousness that cannot be named. Buddhism approaches the same with the teaching of No-Self. At the end of the day, these traditions all describe the same thing – the “Something” that comes from “Nothing.” This ‘something’ is, in fact, duality! And hence we come to the Full Moon in the sign of duality: the Gemini twins.

Emptiness is form, and form is emptiness

While the ultimate truth is that All is one big non-definable Oneness, and this ultimate union cannot be named, we live in daily life, which happens in duality, and opposites, beginning with male and female. Duality appears when perception appears: a subject perceives a separate object. Objects appear in the time-space continuum. Now you see it, now you don’t. You are appearing as ‘other’ than me, and there is a separate me to judge the pain of separation, or the pleasure of union.

Contrast exists in life. Otherwise, we’d have a big blur. A wonderful blur, indeed, with no separation, but we wouldn’t get the pleasure of momentary definition. We’d have a happy shade of nebulous bliss, but we wouldn’t experience much outside of the state of blotto. When we deny that contrast is simply a part of the warp and woof of life, we take it personally. We take ownership of ‘this’ or ‘that,’ and therein lies a problem. The minute you name ‘good’ behavior or experiences, you have the opposite. When this is clearly understood, there is no longer a problem with duality.

With the sign of Gemini, we acknowledge the duality of life once again – and we enjoy when we can and endure when we must. No problem. The minute you have ‘yes,’ there is a ‘no’ that arises in consciousness. Same with life and death. Worlds rise and worlds fall. It goes on and on. But if you try to fight the appearance of duality… well, then you suffer. Sure, we can sit here and try to be all sweet 'n spiritual about our lives, giving credit to only that which is loving or kind or gentle; but then, you’d be resisting the momentary reality of duality.

The Shadow Knows

At this Full Moon in Gemini, we also have transiting change-agent Uranus opposite willful Mars, so there’s bound to be a lot of anger or anxiety coming up at this time of year. All of the crud stored in the unconscious may be spilling out in the external world – your car, your body, your relationship, your job. Don’t try to stuff it down in the subconscious because it’s not pretty. The more we turn away from the shadow, the more it perpetuates.

What can we do when the volcano of unpleasant emotions or words and thoughts spill out in duality? We can do our best to take care of ourselves and our nervous systems. Sleep, watch movies, take a walk. Hold on to the proverbial feet of God and let the waves crash all around you without taking it personally. Ask for help and support from safe others - those folks who won’t judge you for having an honest-to-goodness raw emotion.

The thing is, the popular New Age textbooks will tell you to be good, be kind. Well, in a sense that is true: you can try to be kind, but the crap may come up anyway, like a sewer overflowing. So face the fact that it's coming up – this something from nothingness. Do your best to clean up your side of the street but don’t judge yourself when it overfloweth.

At this Full Moon in Gemini with the volatile Mars-Uranus aspect, ask yourself: what shadowy part of yourself are you attempting to keep a lid on? What can’t you help but express in word, thought, or deed? Hell hath no fury like a Gemini told to shut up.

Embrace your shadow self, your Evil Twin, and come to peace with the reality within.

Now, without further ado, let us look at how this New Moon cycle is affecting you! For best results, as always, be sure to read for your Sun, Moon and Rising Sign.

Erin Reese’s channeled Astro-Tarot messages at this Full Moon in Gemini, December 17, 2013

After purifying the Osho Zen Tarot deck and calling upon my guides and the Divine, here are my channeled messages.

UNIVERSAL CARD (for everyone):
SIX OF CLOUDS – The Burden
This card is a reminder that whatever arises in word or concept or idea is essentially an untruth because it is always based on a momentary perception. We can drop the addiction to searching for the correct way of being, living, doing and know that ultimately, once we state a "this," there is a "that." This is the dance in duality. Abiding in the truth that things are the Way They Are is peace; otherwise, we are going to be weighed down by our families, society, and even our own selves and our own belief systems. Relinquish the entire struggle to figure out what is true and right. Now. Here. Today. Just be, and be free. Drop the ‘shoulds.’

ARIES:
SEVEN OF FIRE - Stress
Let go of all the 'doing,' Aries! You are an adrenalin junkie and you know it. If you allow stress to drive you it will not be pretty; you will only crash and the results will not be in your favor. Slow it down, Ram. Stop the plate-spinning and give yourself a rest.

TAURUS:
XV- CONDITIONING
The earthly, material realm can rise up and bit you in the bum this season, Taurus. Don’t let your ideas of what you should have or should do hold you back. Let go of the struggle to be secure, safe, and acceptable. Learn to enjoy the world, but not be attached to its ideas.

GEMINI:
X- CHANGE
Hold on to your hats, Twins! You see the winds of change blowing full force through your life, and there is no stopping it. It’s like the song, “To everything there is a season… turn, turn, turn.” One part of your life is coming to an end and this requires you to accept that your old identity is falling away. Let go of it gracefully.

CANCER:
KING OF CLOUDS - CONTROL
Crab, you are not known for your controlling nature, except that you’re so sensitive that you can tend to try to rule your home or environs to the point of extreme. At this time, let go of ideas of how others and the elements should behave to make you comfortable in your own skin-shell, and that includes controlling your own self.

LEO:
EIGHT OF WATER – Letting Go
Ahhhh… it’s been a long year, hasn’t it, lovable Lion? Now, you can rest a bit and kick back. Let the others take over the busy life and watch the hard work you’ve put in do its own thing. You’ve put in enough effort. Chill out!

VIRGO:
IV- THE REBEL
Bust out of your societal and familial chains, Virgo. You do not need to follow others’ rules and regulations imposed on you from outside, nor others' ideas of wrong or right behavior. Do you own thing this holiday season, and let go of the self-criticism telling you that you must do it right. Strike out on your own.

LIBRA:
4 OF CLOUDS – Postponement
Breathe. Just breathe. Wait until a later date to implement these big new ideas, Libra. At this time, the World may not be as receptive. Take time out now to fill in the colors of your own heart without outside expectation. Love yourself instead of waiting for another to give you the attention you so crave.

SCORPIO:
INTENSITY – Knight of Fire
Burn bright, Scorpio Eagle. Your passions are running high again, whether artistically, professionally, or sexually. There is no need to wait on anything; you couldn’t if you tried. The speed which catapults you forth now may put others off; pay no mind to their reactions. You CAN’T hold back.

SAGITTARIUS:
TEN OF WATER - Harmony
Whew! Your love light is flowing forth – the love of truth, and the love of life and the world with all its mysterious diversity. You can let that love heal you now; it’s a good time to connect with global traditions other than those of your own native land. Try a different sort of holiday celebration or travel to foreign climes in your head or body.

CAPRICORN:
PAGE OF CLOUDS - Mind
Clean out the garbage in your head, Cappy. Don’t doubt yourself any longer. Sometimes you can be such a worry wart, and even self-deprecating. It gets polluted in your head. How can you stop the funny farm from taking over your mind? Let the rest of the world do its thing and stay out of it.

AQUARIUS:
SIX OF FIRE - Success
You’ve accomplished more in 2013 than you realize, Aquarius! Your life has risen to a new echelon. Even if you didn’t see it coming, praise is on its way. Revel in the glory and reward. You deserve it! Get a new outfit to celebrate your hard work and celebrate.

PISCES:
V- NO-THINGNESS
Yes, I can hear you breathe a sigh of relief. Check out of the madness of holiday frenzy, Fish; do it. Don’t lift a finger if you can help it; go on retreat or turn it over to your Aunt Mabel this year. You do not need a morsel of extra input or output; do only that which absolutely needs doing. Otherwise, step off the treadmill of life, and enjoy. Silent nighty-night!
