New Moon Astro-Tarot Forecast – January 1, 2014

A MAJOR EVOLUTIONARY NEW MOON
In the wee hours of the New Year, we have a super-charged New Moon in the earth sign of Capricorn, the Sea Goat. Saturn-ruled, serious-business Capricorn seems to want to shake its finger at us to get to work immediately as 2014 kicks off. BUT – this is no ordinary start for goal-setting and new initiatives! We are going to feel a push-pull on our plans and aspirations that could feel crazy-making if we don’t flow with the go. The planets want you to know right now: the old you – as you once knew yourself to be – is no longer in charge.

Ch-ch-ch-changes
Pretty soon you're gonna get a little older
Time may change me
But I can't trace time
I said that time may change me
But I can't trace time

~ David Bowie, “Changes” (1971)

It is a special New Moon, defined by a cardinal Grand Cross: Mars in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries, and both square Pluto in Capricorn (conjunct the New Moon, Sun and Mercury), which opposes Jupiter in Cancer. What does this mean? We will feel tremendous internal and external tension to initiate significant changes. We may feel strung out in four directions of our lives, not sure which area to focus on first. The pressure could be especially intense because of the social conditioning of the “new year” hanging over us as well. We know we must DO something, but how to begin?

Upon meditating on this New Moon and her aspects over the last weeks, I've come to the view that there isn’t a whole lot we can do to initiate anything, at least right away. We need a couple weeks – at least! – to INTEGRATE the powerful forces put upon us by this planetary cardinal cross. Let the world reorient itself, with You (as the “I” of Consciousness, the eternal subject) at the center, observing and watching. See how you are naturally directed from moment to moment, from the ground Itself. At first, the flow may feel like: “Oh, we’re doing this now.” Followed by: “Oh, I guess that’s not it. Looks like we’re doing that instead.” Repeat, again and again, until you finally surrender, and throw your hands up and say, “Geez, I guess we have to see what happens. Let the world make up its mind!”

Again, because of the potency of this Grand Cross New Moon and the push of Capricorn to ‘get to work,’ we may THINK we have to do something NOW. But really, it’s Mama Earth who is doing her thing, and we are her loyal subjects in this case. In my astro-intuitive professional opinion, we are going to have little say in the direction right now.

Let Gaia place you where she needs you. She’ll do a much better job than the mind at this time. For the first two weeks of January, we can ride the wave of Her ebbs and flows. Try to relax your nervous system. Go for a lot of hikes and walks on the beach. Stretch your legs, reach your arms up and sniff the sky. Bow down and let your fingertips gracefully touch the Earth. She will guide the way.

Blessings to you, my beloved readers…I love you and am grateful for you!
Erin

Erin Reese’s channeled Astro-Tarot messages at this New Moon in Capricorn: January 1, 2014

After purifying the Voyager Tarot deck and calling upon my guides, here are my channeled messages.

UNIVERSAL CARD (for everyone):
VII- THE CHARIOT
All of us are called into a year of Mastery. 2014 is a Seven year (2+0+1+4) so it’s no coincidence that I’ve pulled the Major Arcana 7 card. The Chariot commands us to master the tension between opposites within and without. How do we stay centered no matter the weather? It’s the New Year so it’s “on your mark, get set, go!” Right? Yes and no! We may all feel self-willfully driven and goal-oriented now, and the Grand Cross as described above is literally forcing us to evolve and change. How do we let this happen without suffering through the push-pull of the process? Remember that LOVE is included in EVOLution. Love the process. You only get to experience this transformative moment once in this lifetime. Enjoy your pain, enjoy your pleasure. It’s a journey, the Divine is in the driver’s seat, and you are the master copilot.

“Take your well-disciplined strengths and stretch them between two opposing poles. Because inside human beings is where God learns.” ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

ARIES:
GUARDIAN – Woman of Crystals
Your quick mind is precious, independent Aries, and the more clear you are, the more effective you can be in the New Year. Do what you can to eliminate false concepts and distractions from your self-planning sessions now! Cut through the crud and focus only on the absolute essentials.

TAURUS:
XIV- ART
Creativity abounds for you this month, sweet Taurus. Let your body and mind be healed through your hands. Cook, sew, build a bin for firewood, turn old clothes into rags you can reuse, teach a child to walk or watercolor, place your own drawings on the wall. Honor your heart through art. Walk in Nature for fresh inspiration, visit a museum. Let color seep into your soul.

GEMINI:
MASTER – Sage of Worlds
You love to live in your mind, Gemini, but this New Moon raises the bar on you. You are asked to APPLY your working mind to worldly affairs. Market your services and kick off the year with a solid business plan. Set a monthly financial goal for yourself or your family and ask the Multiverse to show you how to bring home the bacon (or tofu as it were). Make golden hay while the Sun shines on you financially. You can pull in cash now in a healthy, wise, nourishing manner.

CANCER:
SURFER – Man of Cups
FLOW. That’s your keyword for January, Crab. Do not exert yourself more than your natural rhythms ask of you from one moment to the next. A lot of shifts occur and circumstances will change the first weeks of the year and your sensitivity will be an asset rather than a deficit as long as you take it easy. Remember to internally surf the external waves and riptides. Glide through the days without any harsh expectations of self and others.

LEO:
REJOICER – Woman of Cups
Oh, yeah. Breathe in the glory of refreshment time after the crazy holi-daze have ended. You can renew and start afresh in 2014 with a brand new outlook. You can turn a new leaf this year, Lion. But first, really pat yourself on the back for such a great 2013. You worked hard and this will flow into abundance and praise and pride in the new year. Good news and reward are on the way.

VIRGO:
DULLNESS – Seven of Crystals
You are tired, Virgo, and that’s the malaise you feel after the busy-ness of the last few months. Your brain needs a big BREAK and your body needs a rest. Let yourself enter a fasting period of no-mind and let yourself go on auto-pilot for a while. By February you’ll start having energy again. Take it easy.

LIBRA:
COMMENCEMENT – Four of Worlds
Mars, the red planet of drive, will and action, is firing up your sign for seven months, Libra! He will move through your first house of identity and physicality, giving you time to establish an entirely new beginning. This is the year of a “New You” campaign. Take your time to get going – think about what seeds to plant for your personal vision and by spring the sprouts will surface.

SCORPIO:
LEARNER – Child of Crystals
It appears you’re working super hard to understand new concepts and systems this month, Scorp, whether that involves communication, education, schooling your children or learning the secrets of the stars. Stay in fascination mode and hunker down this winter to absorb all the fresh insights you’re so hungry for.

SAGITTARIUS:
SYNERGY – Six of Worlds
After so long of wondering where your visions have been leading you, Sag, finally things are clicking and you feel in sync with the grand plan of the Universe. Stay in this flow. Divine grace and ease are on your side as you implement ideas and dreams you’ve been striving toward for the past five years. Let unseen forces show up to move you forward.
CAPRICORN:
VI - LOVERS
It’s all about choice this month, Cappy. You will be presented with two options very soon. Neither is a bad move so you can trust yourself and follow your heart. Whether it concerns a new job, a partner, a new gym membership, or where to build a home, you will do well to go for the option that puts a feeling of ease in your bones. This year, remember, you cannot make a bad move. All roads lead to the goal.

AQUARIUS:
XII - HANGED MAN
You’ve been going through the spiritual wringer lately, Water Bearer. Whether you're passing through the eye of the storm or the eye of the needle, you’re feeling deep-rooted shifts in your soul. This has been entirely out of your hands. By the middle of 2014, you’ll look back and hardly recognize your old life! You have to trust that Life itself is taking old ways, people, things and options out of your life in order to prep you for a truer expression of who you are today. Let go and don’t try to hold on. Freefall. It won’t hurt because your free spirit knows how to fly high.

PISCES:
0 – FOOL/CHILD
You can absolutely trust that everything is perfect as it is in your special Fish bowl right now. Go ahead and shirk as many responsibilities as possible and simply float into 2014 with your sweetest companions and daydreams. The Universe doesn’t want you to lift a finger beyond the next moment. You have complete validation that You Are BEAUTIFUL, WHOLE, AND COMPLETE exactly as you are. Zero effort required!

Full Moon Astro-Tarot Forecast - December 17, 2013

This Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 1:28 a.m. Pacific, we have a testy Full Moon in the sign of the quick-witted Gemini Twins, the Masters of Duality!

It Takes Two to Tango

If you’ve been a reader of this blog for some time, you may have noticed I often write about the yogic Eastern teaching of advaita, or non-duality. Advaita literally means “not two,” and is often described as “neti, neti,” which means “not this, not this” in Sanskrit. Advaita is the Is-ness of the One Consciousness that cannot be named. Buddhism approaches the same with the teaching of No-Self. At the end of the day, these traditions all describe the same thing – the “Something” that comes from “Nothing.” This ‘something’ is, in fact, duality! And hence we come to the Full Moon in the sign of duality: the Gemini twins.

Emptiness is form, and form is emptiness

While the ultimate truth is that All is one big non-definable Oneness, and this ultimate union cannot be named, we live in daily life, which happens in duality, and opposites, beginning with male and female. Duality appears when perception appears: a subject perceives a separate object. Objects appear in the time-space continuum. Now you see it, now you don’t. You are appearing as ‘other’ than me, and there is a separate me to judge the pain of separation, or the pleasure of union.

Contrast exists in life. Otherwise, we’d have a big blur. A wonderful blur, indeed, with no separation, but we wouldn’t get the pleasure of momentary definition. We’d have a happy shade of nebulous bliss, but we wouldn’t experience much outside of the state of blotto. When we deny that contrast is simply a part of the warp and woof of life, we take it personally. We take ownership of ‘this’ or ‘that,’ and therein lies a problem. The minute you name ‘good’ behavior or experiences, you have the opposite. When this is clearly understood, there is no longer a problem with duality.

With the sign of Gemini, we acknowledge the duality of life once again – and we enjoy when we can and endure when we must. No problem. The minute you have ‘yes,’ there is a ‘no’ that arises in consciousness. Same with life and death. Worlds rise and worlds fall. It goes on and on. But if you try to fight the appearance of duality… well, then you suffer. Sure, we can sit here and try to be all sweet 'n spiritual about our lives, giving credit to only that which is loving or kind or gentle; but then, you’d be resisting the momentary reality of duality.

The Shadow Knows

At this Full Moon in Gemini, we also have transiting change-agent Uranus opposite willful Mars, so there’s bound to be a lot of anger or anxiety coming up at this time of year. All of the crud stored in the unconscious may be spilling out in the external world – your car, your body, your relationship, your job. Don’t try to stuff it down in the subconscious because it’s not pretty. The more we turn away from the shadow, the more it perpetuates.

What can we do when the volcano of unpleasant emotions or words and thoughts spill out in duality? We can do our best to take care of ourselves and our nervous systems. Sleep, watch movies, take a walk. Hold on to the proverbial feet of God and let the waves crash all around you without taking it personally. Ask for help and support from safe others - those folks who won’t judge you for having an honest-to-goodness raw emotion.

The thing is, the popular New Age textbooks will tell you to be good, be kind. Well, in a sense that is true: you can try to be kind, but the crap may come up anyway, like a sewer overflowing. So face the fact that it's coming up – this something from nothingness. Do your best to clean up your side of the street but don’t judge yourself when it overfloweth.

At this Full Moon in Gemini with the volatile Mars-Uranus aspect, ask yourself: what shadowy part of yourself are you attempting to keep a lid on? What can’t you help but express in word, thought, or deed? Hell hath no fury like a Gemini told to shut up.

Embrace your shadow self, your Evil Twin, and come to peace with the reality within.

Now, without further ado, let us look at how this New Moon cycle is affecting you! For best results, as always, be sure to read for your Sun, Moon and Rising Sign.

Erin Reese’s channeled Astro-Tarot messages at this Full Moon in Gemini, December 17, 2013

After purifying the Osho Zen Tarot deck and calling upon my guides and the Divine, here are my channeled messages.

UNIVERSAL CARD (for everyone):
SIX OF CLOUDS – The Burden
This card is a reminder that whatever arises in word or concept or idea is essentially an untruth because it is always based on a momentary perception. We can drop the addiction to searching for the correct way of being, living, doing and know that ultimately, once we state a "this," there is a "that." This is the dance in duality. Abiding in the truth that things are the Way They Are is peace; otherwise, we are going to be weighed down by our families, society, and even our own selves and our own belief systems. Relinquish the entire struggle to figure out what is true and right. Now. Here. Today. Just be, and be free. Drop the ‘shoulds.’

ARIES:
SEVEN OF FIRE - Stress
Let go of all the 'doing,' Aries! You are an adrenalin junkie and you know it. If you allow stress to drive you it will not be pretty; you will only crash and the results will not be in your favor. Slow it down, Ram. Stop the plate-spinning and give yourself a rest.

TAURUS:
XV- CONDITIONING
The earthly, material realm can rise up and bit you in the bum this season, Taurus. Don’t let your ideas of what you should have or should do hold you back. Let go of the struggle to be secure, safe, and acceptable. Learn to enjoy the world, but not be attached to its ideas.

GEMINI:
X- CHANGE
Hold on to your hats, Twins! You see the winds of change blowing full force through your life, and there is no stopping it. It’s like the song, “To everything there is a season… turn, turn, turn.” One part of your life is coming to an end and this requires you to accept that your old identity is falling away. Let go of it gracefully.

CANCER:
KING OF CLOUDS - CONTROL
Crab, you are not known for your controlling nature, except that you’re so sensitive that you can tend to try to rule your home or environs to the point of extreme. At this time, let go of ideas of how others and the elements should behave to make you comfortable in your own skin-shell, and that includes controlling your own self.

LEO:
EIGHT OF WATER – Letting Go
Ahhhh… it’s been a long year, hasn’t it, lovable Lion? Now, you can rest a bit and kick back. Let the others take over the busy life and watch the hard work you’ve put in do its own thing. You’ve put in enough effort. Chill out!

VIRGO:
IV- THE REBEL
Bust out of your societal and familial chains, Virgo. You do not need to follow others’ rules and regulations imposed on you from outside, nor others' ideas of wrong or right behavior. Do you own thing this holiday season, and let go of the self-criticism telling you that you must do it right. Strike out on your own.

LIBRA:
4 OF CLOUDS – Postponement
Breathe. Just breathe. Wait until a later date to implement these big new ideas, Libra. At this time, the World may not be as receptive. Take time out now to fill in the colors of your own heart without outside expectation. Love yourself instead of waiting for another to give you the attention you so crave.

SCORPIO:
INTENSITY – Knight of Fire
Burn bright, Scorpio Eagle. Your passions are running high again, whether artistically, professionally, or sexually. There is no need to wait on anything; you couldn’t if you tried. The speed which catapults you forth now may put others off; pay no mind to their reactions. You CAN’T hold back.

SAGITTARIUS:
TEN OF WATER - Harmony
Whew! Your love light is flowing forth – the love of truth, and the love of life and the world with all its mysterious diversity. You can let that love heal you now; it’s a good time to connect with global traditions other than those of your own native land. Try a different sort of holiday celebration or travel to foreign climes in your head or body.

CAPRICORN:
PAGE OF CLOUDS - Mind
Clean out the garbage in your head, Cappy. Don’t doubt yourself any longer. Sometimes you can be such a worry wart, and even self-deprecating. It gets polluted in your head. How can you stop the funny farm from taking over your mind? Let the rest of the world do its thing and stay out of it.

AQUARIUS:
SIX OF FIRE - Success
You’ve accomplished more in 2013 than you realize, Aquarius! Your life has risen to a new echelon. Even if you didn’t see it coming, praise is on its way. Revel in the glory and reward. You deserve it! Get a new outfit to celebrate your hard work and celebrate.

PISCES:
V- NO-THINGNESS
Yes, I can hear you breathe a sigh of relief. Check out of the madness of holiday frenzy, Fish; do it. Don’t lift a finger if you can help it; go on retreat or turn it over to your Aunt Mabel this year. You do not need a morsel of extra input or output; do only that which absolutely needs doing. Otherwise, step off the treadmill of life, and enjoy. Silent nighty-night!
