Full Moon Astro-Tarot Forecast – January 15, 2014

OPENING UP TO LIFE

Today, January 15, at 8:52 pm PT/11:52 ET, we have a Full Moon shining through in the sensitive water sign of Cancer. Cancer is known for vulnerability but it doesn’t have to be in the “poor me” fashion, no. Vulnerability can be combined with confidence to make for a new kind of strength in a person – the strength that is unaffected by the harshness of life’s conditions. Underneath the Cancer Crab’s shell is a soft underbelly. This is the ground of presence, the essence of being, or “Is-ness” itself, that we can always rest in, no matter what is happening.

At today’s Full Moon, Luna in Cancer is being lit up by the Sun in the opposite sign of Capricorn. This tells us that we are being exposed by Capricorn traits: tradition, authority, responsibility, structure, and rules. At first glance, this may seem like a difficult reality for the most yin, most feminine of signs. Cancer is the sign of nurturing, pregnancy, and motherhood. Capricorn is the father and stern taskmaster. Sometimes, Capricorn bears down like the outdated patriarchy of old, and we both laugh at and cry at the rigidity. But enlightened, evolved Capricorn energy provides boundaries and foundations for the Cancer sweetness to bloom and gives a stable ground for our softer side to rise up and shine. That’s the energy of this Full Moon: we are both exposed in our most vulnerable places – our very souls, our very hearts – AND we are granted a ground to take a seat on.

This is true strength – honesty, vulnerability and courage to be seen by even the most imposing of people, places and institutions. Think about Cancer once-queen-to-be Princess Diana – she revealed herself to be a glorious jewel of light shining for all the world to see, even while she was constantly challenged by the rigid side of regality. Or another royal: His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama – another super-powered Crab – cultivating compassion while faced with Chinese authority bearing down on Tibetan cultural and spiritual heritage; what an incredible example of strength in vulnerability!

With Cancer the Crab energy embracing us now, we can always rest inside the nurturing structure of the Self – the ground within. And with Capricorn Sun fully beaming his rays of response-ability, we can find the reliability of external structures to be comforting, too, whether that be a home, a job, a committed relationship, or a quiet room of our own. We don’t have to feel reined in by the world’s harshness; we reign in our hearts when we fully open to life.

All my love,
Erin

Erin Reese’s channeled Astro-Tarot messages

Full Moon in Cancer:
Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 8:52 p.m. PT/11:52 p.m. ET

After purifying the Universal Waite Tarot deck and calling upon my guides, here are my channeled messages.

UNIVERSAL CARD (for everyone):
KNIGHT OF SWORDS
At first glance, this is a surprising card for a feminine, watery Cancer Full Moon. But Cancer is also a cardinal sign and takes the initiative! The fast-moving Knight of Swords tells us that those ideas you’ve had concerning kicking off 2014 – well, the waiting game is over! Get your projects rolling, full steam ahead. No perfectionism allowed. Start where you are, but get moving now. There is no time to waste. Get your running shoes on because suddenly, 2014 is here and in full gear!

ARIES:
QUEEN OF WANDS
Keep the focus on your own professional prowess, Ram dear, and don’t even think you have to rule with an iron fist to get your agenda accomplished. Stay relaxed, and enjoy the fruits of your own creativity as they shine in your career light now. You’re bolstered from within to stand in your purpose. Now is the time to embrace female power – the women in your life who are movers and shakers.

TAURUS:
THE DEVIL
A warning sign appears, dear Bull, stating that if you are tempted to overspend money this month, WAIT. Your dreams and ideas will rise again in a new way in February and March (March is even better for moving forth with purchases). Don’t make any financial commitments you can’t handle now. Shore up a bit longer. Your ruling planet of Venus (wealth) is retrograde and in a challenging position until January 31. Save your shillings.

GEMINI:
PAGE OF SWORDS
Talk, talk, talk Gemini – that’s what you love! You’re good at it, yet remember that even you have a little bit more to learn about communication, especially compassionate communication. Have you tried exercising some new skills in this arena? Try listening and speaking with your heart a bit more, and slow down. Practice. Don’t accuse others of anything – it doesn’t help. Stay focused in “I” statements (“I feel,” “I want,” “I need”) to get your point across.

CANCER:
STRENGTH
You got what you need, Crab, stored up all inside of you! Don’t depend on others to build up your confidence and courage. We know you can feel especially vulnerable and sensitive, especially at this Full Moon time. But your strength comes from within, from your soft underbelly protected by a useful, flexible exoskeleton. Your secret weapon: loving others up.

LEO:
QUEEN OF SWORDS
Leo, you hate it when you have to be a tough guy or gal and roar with your words. But this week and next, you may have to stand up for yourself in speech or writing. Do it with detachment and objectivity; focus on clarity rather than emotionality. You will get your point across. Remember, not everyone has to be pleased with your decisions for them to be the best for all concerned. Drama is not a good approach right now. Stay calm, cool, and collected and you’ll come out a winner.

VIRGO:
TEN OF CUPS
Good times are finally rolling again! Enjoy the good juju and work your mojo. Celebrate your life with the friends and loved ones in your midst. A happy family and community are keys for you right now – much more than too much hard work. Let your hair down and revel in all the yumminess that surrounds you. The greatest definition of success I’ve ever heard is: “happiness.”

LIBRA:
TWO OF SWORDS
“Do I do this, or that?” “Which choice is best?” Are you waffling again, dear Libra? The trick is to meditate more, however that works for you – it can be on the zafu cushion, on a nature walk, or out for a run, or even through regular journaling. Whatever mode you use, train yourself to not believe your dead-end thoughts. Let the best answer emerge naturally from your soul, rather than figuring it out.

SCORPIO:
TWO OF PENTACLES
You are doing far better financially than you may have thought, Scorp. You’ve been juggling funds and have learned to have fun in the meantime with the resources you have. You’re almost through that old rocky period of asking “will there be more month than money?” Keep dancing through the account balancing and be proud of yourself.

SAGITTARIUS:
KNIGHT OF WANDS
TRAVEL is part and parcel of your soul, Sag, and you must go abroad at least once in 2014! At the very least, even if it’s not a foreign nation, take a long bus, train, or plane trip that lands you a minimum of four or five hours from your home. Stay awhile. Get a DIFFERENT experience in your blood. You need it to stay inspired, Archer!

CAPRICORN:
NINE OF CUPS
Sometimes you forget just how wealthy you are, Cappy. It’s certainly not about the number in your bank account. When you cultivate an attitude of gratitude, a funny thing seems to occur: MORE goodness flows your way! At this Full Moon time, let your heart wish for what it wants. As long as you are grateful for what you already have, your dreams will come true this year.

AQUARIUS:
EIGHT OF CUPS
Something old is moving out of your life now, Water Bearer. Even though this has given you great times and good memories, it’s an old chapter and you’re moving on. There are new mountaintops to explore in order to fully grow and learn and evolve. Stay inspired and engaged in life. The old stuff will always be a part of your heart and soul – you’ll always have access to it. But the universe wants you to start a new chapter. Follow the lead.

PISCES:
THE STAR
Healing waters are calling your name, Pisces. You need a day at a spa, or a plunge into a hot springs, hot tub or hot bath. Use some mineral salt scrubs and invigorate your spirit with fresh air and purify. You will feel so much better. Facials, pedicures, massages, saunas or steam baths – all are beckoning you, so dive in!
