Scenes from Arunachala (video)

Scenes from Arunachala, the holy hill and beacon of light!
Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, South India.

The mountain, the babas, the pilgrims, the coconut, the love.

Om namah Shivaya.
Enjoy.
Love,
Erin Reese

  3. Love the music. I wonder how it feels to be back. I remember the pilgrims sleeping on the wall from the video you posted last time you were there. It was taken from the same vantage point, so I'm thinking you video from a window across the street? It's higher than ground level so I am intrigued. Do tell! And the coconut lady. She seems to be carving up the coconut meat and people buy that, right? Do they eat it right out of the shell? Do they save the milk? How much do they pay for it? It seems like she carves off like a quarter of the whole coconut, right? And when the Babas are fed (I assume they are lined up to receive food there), what are they eating? Is it dal? And, my dear, what do you eat when you are there? I saw ladies in saris. Are you in a sari too? What color? Is it warm there? It doesn't seem too hot because everybody seems to have a robe on. And do they know you are filming them? I wondered about that. I guess I am inquisitive today - I am just fascinated by this other worldly life. Maybe you could post a follow up and explain some bits about the scenes. I would love to know! Cheers, my dear. Travel safe....xoxo
