Fire in the Heart 🔥 New Moon in Leo

If you’ve been reading my articles, or had a session or attended a group with me over the past few months, you’ll note that I’ve often mentioned the incredible amount of HEAT on the planet right now. Mars’ long journey through the cardinal fire sign of Aries, due to a retrograde, lasts seven months, until the beginning of January 2021. Right now, this is being exacerbated due to a square to the prevailing ominousness of the Jupiter-Pluto-Saturn stellium in Capricorn that is raising hell with all structures, public health, political institutions, and control issues. Need I say more?

I’ve been talking about the heat, the fire, the kundalini shakti being raised all summer. I’ve suggested to my students and clients to stay ultra-aware of their energy field. To manage their internal energy systems with the keenest consciousness. To take responsibility for their own volatility, and tend carefully to what is needed internally and externally. I’ve discussed sex, food, cooling, electricity, anger, and family relations. I’ve advised exquisitely detailed listening to the body, mind, spirit. This is the way of responding and balance.

As always, and obviously now, we must listen to the finest points of what our souls are asking. We will always know exactly what to do, and when to do it, so long as we are in the present moment. If you are fretting about the future, or dwelling in the past, you are already long-gone, and you will not be able to make any decision with clarity and confidence. This is why I teach Freedom in the Eternal Now and Unshakeable Presence.

Your life is always here, here, here. Nowhere else. (If you need assistance to see through the illusion of future-tripping, or past-melancholy, consider coming to an Awakening Group spiritual talk on Thursday morning, 9am PT. Email me directly for details.) It is vital that you drop into the moment, and embodied presence, if you want to be at peace through this great Transformation.

Things are heating up and will continue to do so over the next several months. Where is the reprieve? It is in your own heart. The opportunity hidden in disastrous planetary, political, and viral upheaval is to bring you back to what is already here, inside of the Self. It is from this place that you are able to make the move you need to make, to take the action that is being provoked, poked, and pushed by Mars’ fire at the moment.

Allyson Grey, Jewel Net of Indra, 1988

At this week’s New Moon in Leo (Tuesday, August 18, 19:42 PT) the Sun and Moon are trining volcanic Mars, and there is a grand opportunity to make a superpowered leap into your next life circumstance. It is vital that you listen. There is always a window to jump through, a hole in the net, a portal. What is it that your fiery courageous heart is telling you? Now is the time to have 100% trust in the Self, and be carried into the next chapter. We cannot sit back and wallow, eating up only what we are being fed from the fear-based collective, no. Go beyond, to that place in your self that is ready to risk it all, to make a move even when it doesn’t make “sense.” Your very heart knows what I’m talking about. Pack light, and make the leap.

I love you,

Erin

The real world is beyond the mind's ken; we see it through the net of our desires, divided into pleasure and pain, right and wrong, inner and outer. To see the universe as it is, you must step beyond the net. It is not hard to do so, for the net is full of holes.

Full Moon in Cancer + New Year's Forecast!

“Ring out the false, ring in the true.”
~ Alfred Lord Tennyson

Full Moon in Cancer: January 1 ~ Be Gentle with Yourself

Just after midnight on New Year’s Day, the Moon shifted from buzzy Gemini into nurturing, self-caring Cancer. While we may have been zipping about during the holidays, socializing, perhaps overdoing it a bit with the bubbly, right as 2018 begins, we are illumined with a Full Moon in a sensitive water sign that requires us to keep the focus on ourselves, our souls and our tender hearts.

Culturally, there’s often  pressure to push our way into a new year. If we’re inclined to set goals or resolutions, we would do well to remember the motto, "Progress not Perfection." Otherwise, a slip straight out of the gate could make us feel worse. I prefer to think about holding intentions - lightly! - for the coming year. Intentions feel a lot more spacious and forgiving.

Make New Mistakes!

In preparing for this mini-forecast, I found this passage by the British short fiction and comic book author Neil Gaiman:
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something. So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

Full Moon New Year Forecast

In the spirit of offering you a New Year's mini-horoscope at this time of Full Moon in Cancer, here are a few astro-thoughts to get the wheels spinning in the right direction. Be sure to read for your Sun, Moon and Rising Sign for best results!

Aries: Connect to your intuition, fiery Ram! Take time to sit on your meditation cushion, under a tree, or flat on your back on your yoga mat or bed, and go deep inside to listen. You are such a courageous, motivated Ram - sometimes you forget that your answers lie within. Use your determination and strong will to discipline yourself to take 20 minutes to tune in. You must create space to be alone in order to do this.

Taurus: Create professional or career magic this year! You have all of the tools, talent, and tenacity to bring your visions to life. All you need to do is seize the moment. You don’t have to know exactly how it’s all going to play out. All you need to do, is begin! One step leads to another. Stop questioning whether you finally have everything you need to make it happen. Your time to accomplish is now. The more magical and visionary your aim, the better.

Gemini: Wow, are you in need of a rebirth.  Likely, you’ve needed a life overhaul for a while now, and finally the Universe is coming along to give it to you. At the end of 2018, a major part of your life will be over, and you will barely recognize this phase. The great thing is that you barely have to lift a finger to make this happen. Your guides and allied energies are already moving the pieces and players into place. Trust the process and see how Life is moving you into position, effortlessly.

Cancer: Get grounded this year, Cancer, and stay grounded. How do you connect to the earth element? Through cooking your own wholesome meals? Through walking a dog, or practicing yoga asana? Perhaps you need to do less in the external world and stay at home more. Bring the people you love closer to your world instead of running around visiting everyone and driving everywhere. Less is more. Your mind will be much healthier if you relax into a simple body-oriented year.

Leo: Party, party, party. Woohoo! Fun times ahead for Leo! I know you like that. It’s social year, once again, for the fun-loving Lion. Your friends will host events for you to make grand appearances at. You’ll dance, laugh, play the night away. Stop working so hard all the time. You need to get back into tune with what you enjoy – friends and theater and concerts and house parties and camping trips and magical excursions right and left. What a great year on the way!

Virgo: There is no room for shame in your life, dear Virgo. You must release all harsh judgment of self. An exceptional level of total self-love and compassionate acceptance is necessary if you want to change habits or behaviors. Punitive self-talk is going to cause you to tighten up and act from fear or low self-worth. Start by letting go of the belief that you have to behave any certain way in order to be lovable and acceptable. In the eyes of Existence, you are perfect just the way you are. Love yourself into better health or life circumstances, not through judgement.

Libra: It looks like a teaching year for you! You are going to be in a position where you’ll be required to share your knowledge and skills with others. You may also be the student yourself. You may be in a position to learn from your elders, or those who’ve gone much further down the path than you. If a mentoring situation arises, be sure to say yes.  You’ll need this “passing the baton” approach in 2018 in order to feel connected to humanity. It will nourish your loving heart to do so.

Scorpio: Any situation in your life where you’ve felt in bondage in some way is going to come to an end. You, Serpent Eagle, must be free to fly and soar in your spirit. You must be willing to sacrifice any illusion of comfort or security and simply leap off the cliff. Don’t worry, you will be taken care of. The price you’ve been paying to play small or be constricted is simply too great. This is the year to let go and trust.

Sagittarius: You are going to be challenged to speak up this year, dear Archer, for the things that matter to your heart and soul. Some individuals in your family, community, or political construct are simply trying to take advantage of you or the situation, and it’s your job to say “no!” in a clear manner. You, Sag, are a part of the evolution of consciousness, and your great vision and courage are needed this year. Watch for outdated forms of behaving and face them head on. Watch for ways that people abuse power subtly and speak up for yourself and others. We need your fiery heart!

Capricorn: Your ruling planet Saturn’s recent entry into your own sign assures that you’re going to need to roll up your sleeves this year, Capricorn. Get brutally honest about what needs changing, facing, addressing this year. You won’t get any free passes in 2018, I have to say. You must act in a mature, thoughtful manner, even when it’s a drag or you feel like it’s just too hard and you want to go to sleep and check out. You are not a victim. You can make positive changes but first you have to let go of blaming others for your circumstances. You have the key to a better life and it’s called willingness to change yourself.

Aquarius: Relax. Breathe. Chill out, Water Bearer. You’ve been busting your behind for so long that I think you’ve forgotten how to just be a simple, enjoying human on the planet. It’s a year to replenish yourself, get out of your head and let life flow again. You need more music, poetry, art, movies, sunsets, and lovemaking. Simple as that. You get to receive new inspiration from the moon, the stars, the rains and the mystical realms. If you keep working so hard out of habit or cultural superego, you will miss the miracle. Life is short. Enjoy the magic.

Pisces: Solitary creative work is going to be a real help for you this year, Fish. You need to play with your art supplies, your craft tools, your tarot cards, and get into your own zone. Try not to think of what you are accomplishing. The simple act of picking up a colored pen or a pair of scissors is going to lead you on a journey and help you connect to your own divinity. It is important that you take regular introspective time to connect to the heartbeat of Mother Earth through your hands. The result will be serenity, wisdom, and mindful clarity of which action to take next.

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Full Moon in Leo: Show Us Your Stuff

Today we have a full moon in the fiery sign of Leo, inspiring us to open up our hearts real wide and express our unique selves. When Leo energy comes rushing into our lives, we feel a desire to been seen and heard. Polish up our portfolio, dust off our drum set, and show ‘em our stuff. It’s time to ROAR.

With the Sun transiting in Aquarius at this Leo lunation, the personal freedom to self-express is crucial, and it inspires the collective. Hiding won’t do us a bit of good at this time. Opportunities will knock, so be ready! Performance and playfulness are our allies right now. Be seen and be strong in your radiance. Exalt in your confidence, revel in being fully yourself!

Jupiter Promises Reward

“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” ~ Seneca

Smile, and whistle while you work. There’s so much good luck available to us if we just take a tiny bit of action to put ourselves out there. A bit of elbow grease can serve us well now, too. Transiting Jupiter conjunct the Moon’s North Node in Virgo bestows luck and abundance upon those who are willing to (1) do the work; (2) stay somewhat organized; (3) be persistent. Those are the three astro-keys to success right now. Overwhelmed? Break the problem down into chunks. You can get a lot done in 20 minutes. Stay focused on the tiniest task at hand and generous Jupiter will give you a nice handout this year, a big gift indeed. But only if you do the footwork.

All of those problems that cropped up over the last three to four weeks while Mercury has been sleepily in retrograde? Well, it’s now time to kick some butt and address each of them one by one. One week from now, you’ll be so impressed with how you tackled all these things, you’ll give yourself a gold star.

Shine Your Light

The bigger your light, the bigger the chance you’ll be criticized, the more flack you are likely to receive. Don’t pay any attention to it. If you’ve done your inner work, you’re connected to heart and soul. Your intention is pure, so keep movin’ and groovin'. Keep expressing in your own unique, offbeat and upbeat fashion. Put on your red shoes and dance the blues. The love light of this Full Moon is gorgeous. Just like you.

New Moon in Leo: Take a Creative Risk

This Friday, August 14 (7:53 am PT), we welcome a New Moon in the fixed fire sign of show-stopping Leo, beckoning flash, fun, and friskiness - as well as a great need to be admired and adored!

Remember: New Moons are seed-planting times. For the remainder of the month, we are invited to strike a pose, take a chance and do something big and showy. The Leo Moon, Sun, and Venus ménage à trois is spurred on by a lovely trine to trendsetting Uranus. Uranus is in fellow fire-starter sign of Aries, making sure we try something fresh and don’t get stuck in ‘old hat.’

This is a fah-bulous time, Darling, to put energy toward launching a new creative project with an element of risk – putting on a house concert or producing a CD, for example. Or hosting a grand summer's end party at your house-castle in which you invite everyone you know to bask in your presence. Or take a trip to a new, exotic country and broadcast it via your blog. Or begin a super-involved renovation that will cost a pretty penny yet look fantastic in the end - so worth it. Or splurge on a new wardrobe to strut your stuff in back to school, at a festival, or at your new job… Whatever the showy-risk is, the sign of Leo ensures that you will fill yourself up with the sunshine of inner confidence in order to do it.

Reinvent the Wheel: Chiron Quincunx

Chiron, aka the Wounded Healer, in ultra-sensitive Pisces, makes a tight quincunx (150-degree) aspect with the Sun, Moon and Venus all in self-expressive Leo. Quincunxes force us to think outside the box and come up with completely new, often strange and unexpected solutions to challenges. This is a paradoxical New Moon that will require both internal and external adjustments. Chiron in Pisces (2010-2018) is helping us all to heal old trauma and hurts by rinsing salt from our wounds through feeling our feelings without judgment or repression, and through coming out of old martyr or victim complexes. How might this impact our delightfully spunky and optimistic need to share our big lion hearts? Is Chiron going to be a buzzkill?

No way. When Chiron in Pisces looks askance at showy, standout Leo, it is creative genius at its finest hour. Let the imagination seduction begin. Herein lies a major opportunity to “feel the fear and do it anyway.” Even if you’re scared and face the risk of failure or (gasp) rejection, put yourself out there anyway! The ‘worst’ that could happen is that you stumble, and learn in the process what your true needs are. Unlikely, so long as you keep listening to your heart-art. Chances are, you will pull it off with panache and a splash!

Dolce and Gabbana
"Creativity is seeing what everyone else has seen, and thinking what no one else has thought." ~ Albert Einstein (Pisces)

The ‘risky-frisky’ element of this New Moon makes it even more important to cultivate one of the best aspects of the sign of the Lion: healthy self-love. When you believe in your self, your heart, your art, your unique and special purpose, you shine bright. In fact, this is what is known as charisma. It actually sparkles and can be seen as an aura of glamour in those that have it.

Think about the admired rock stars or famous actors you’ve encountered face to face or in a live performance. They positively shimmer, don’t they? That’s star power. That’s charisma. Some lucky individuals are born with a natural confidence, while some of us must do the work of cultivating it. But we all have access to stardust – in fact, we are made of it.

Transiting Saturn finishing up his final hour in Scorpio will be squaring the New Moon, so be forewarned that you will probably have to roll up your sleeves and do some WORK (a four-letter word for pleasure-loving Leo) to get this party started. The cool thing about Saturn’s influence is that while he does make us put some elbow grease into it, he always gives us a reward. The work pays off. Your fire will positively glow and we will all benefit from the warmth.

Worried about coming across as “too full of yourself”? Throw that question out the window. Love yourself through any self-doubt. Remember: you deserve it. Get out there. We need your shimmer.
